In Richmond, we are fortunate enough to have a couple public spots, built and maintained by the locals, in conjunction with the city parks department- Gillies Creek Pump Track.

It’s a lot of work to keep spots like this running, so we had organized a volunteer day through RADshare to get people out- We’d bought some new tools and tarps, and pizza for everyone who lent a hand.

There was a moment that day, at our local pump track when we realized something special had been going on, where riders of all persuasions, from different backgrounds, all with completely different world views and lifestyles, were working side by side, with a common goal. Everyone just wanted a cool place to ride bikes and have a good time.

We were stoked to see a little slice of reality where everyone came together with no pretense or concern, just an honest effort to make the world a little better one jump at a time.
